Apart from the pulpit

While not in the pulpit I am not the man who will push bible verses in each and every discussion or any talk. I will not put a hypocrite’s face when hurt or when in anger (I hope you won’t ever meet me when am in my angry mood as I breath fire). I too I have my views in discussions which may even appear out of this world, Mostly on politics which I seem not to follow well so next I sit next to you and you get me wrong know that I also go wrong just like any other human being.

I happen to come from the countryside where not a lot of maendeleo have taken (though they are underway kudos to government). My weekdays are normal just like for the other neighbors. It may start with breakfast I mean last night’s leftovers and straight to the shamba where I left previously before the hot sun almost roasted me.

Being in gumboots and old fashioned shaggy (sometimes punctured trousers) is not new in the village. You won’t find me reading a newspaper in the morning while the village is busy in their shambas.
I may not talk with that religious coolness which mistakably is seen as being holy. Meet me shouting for that cow in the shamba, my only investment after the naughty boys slept off their jobs. I might roar the whole village after finding a neighbor’s dog messing the compound I had tirelessly kept like a palace.
You may find me in that disorganized room with no clean cloth, with the utensils misplaced, unmopped floor. So next time we meet never be shocked to find me bargaining at the market or waiting for the bus fare to drop at the bus stop.

But what if we take Salvation as a lifestyle and stop being pretenders (‘hypocrite’ may not auger well in this).By reading the bible well and being in Christ for many years I have come to see the false myths that we do have on salvation. We are bothered with thing that doesn’t matter in God’s kingdom. Why the rush and be holy on Sunday and turn vice versa on weekdays. This reminds me of the childhood song questioning on why use God like a gumboot to use on rainy season and dump them(under the bed) on the sunny season.
Why see a man of cloth like a non-human being figure, so meeting that celeb doing an old job may shock you. Why that mentality of judging other people if they don’t use bible verses and biblical explanation in their talks? Why is it that you can spend 80% of you Saturday in a joint or pub with friends (who may not solve your big problems) but start cursing that man of cloth for delaying? (I am not convinced that I will get the correct answers).

It will be easy to take of burdening load on some myths and views and focus on the real matter which is the intended ultimate goal for all Christians by Christ (Seek the kingdom first).

Exodus 13:20 Israelites Wades through the desert

Exodus 13:20

God went ahead of the Israelites in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way by day and by night in a pillar of fire and neither by day or by night did he left them.

God knew that they needed His presence and cover throughout as they waded in the desert. He went with Israelites and took the front position such that whichever path He used they would follow. They had no worry as to what was in front of their way. Whenever the Pillar stopped they would rest until it started moving. Theirs was simple, just to focus and look at the movement and follow.

The day at the desert as usual would be very hot but there was a pillar of cloud passing with them. Tho pillar gave them strength and considerably an umbrella from the hot scorching sun. It gave them hope(Dalili ya mvua ni mawingu) as they waded.

So if the Pillar of fire at night would start moving at the middle of the night (I bet it did) they would follow it even in sleepy moods. When the darkness engulfed by night and there would be poor visibility then their God would be in front of them (Israelites His children) illuminating their way. Their way would be having pits, stumps, rocks and other distractors but for them there was a source of light which NEVER left ahead of them.
