Exodus 13:20 Israelites Wades through the desert

Exodus 13:20

God went ahead of the Israelites in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way by day and by night in a pillar of fire and neither by day or by night did he left them.

God knew that they needed His presence and cover throughout as they waded in the desert. He went with Israelites and took the front position such that whichever path He used they would follow. They had no worry as to what was in front of their way. Whenever the Pillar stopped they would rest until it started moving. Theirs was simple, just to focus and look at the movement and follow.

The day at the desert as usual would be very hot but there was a pillar of cloud passing with them. Tho pillar gave them strength and considerably an umbrella from the hot scorching sun. It gave them hope(Dalili ya mvua ni mawingu) as they waded.

So if the Pillar of fire at night would start moving at the middle of the night (I bet it did) they would follow it even in sleepy moods. When the darkness engulfed by night and there would be poor visibility then their God would be in front of them (Israelites His children) illuminating their way. Their way would be having pits, stumps, rocks and other distractors but for them there was a source of light which NEVER left ahead of them.
